Annual Thai Visa Checklist for Expats

Use this checklist every year to stay legal on a Thai long-stay visa in Pattaya.

Summary

  • File a 90-day report every 90 days you remain in Thailand.
  • Renew your visa 30 days before it expires.
  • Re-file TM.30 every time you change address or return from abroad.
  • Buy a re-entry permit before any international trip on a single-entry visa.
  • Consider Thai tax residency if you spend 180+ days in Thailand in a year.

Month-by-month

  • Every 90 days: file TM.47 (90-day report) online or in Jomtien.
  • 30 days before visa expiry: book renewal at Chonburi Immigration; season bank balance.
  • Before any flight out: apply for a single or multi re-entry permit.
  • Within 24 hours of any address change: file TM.30.
  • By 31 March: file Thai personal income tax (PND.90/91) if tax resident.
