No. The DTV is for remote work for overseas employers or clients, or for approved soft-power activities. To work for a Thai company you need a Non-B visa and work permit.

Can I bring my family?

Yes. Spouses and children under 20 can apply as dependents under your DTV.

Do I have to leave every 180 days?

You can extend each 180-day stay once at immigration for another 180 days (12 months per entry). After that you exit and re-enter to reset the stay.

Is the DTV better than a retirement visa?

Different use cases. The DTV is cheaper, lasts 5 years and suits remote workers. The retirement visa suits residents who plan to stay permanently with no exits required.
